Trainer Profile

Jason Petch

Jason Petch is an ambitious young trainer with a wealth of experience in the racing Industry and a second to none passion for the game.

Early 2003 was time for Jason to take up his own operation in Tasmania. He trained there achieving a high strike rate of money earners to runners with non performing ex-victorian horses. "It was a big move and a beneficial one!"

Further opportunity saw Jason move back home and take up Stables close by the Mornington Training Facility from where he currently operates a select team of horses. "Mornington is an exceptional place to train racehorses as it brings them back to their preferred habitat, nature!" Jason's skills were franked when he won his first Black Type race in Adelaide with quality filly Hooness in March 2010.

Jason's communication skills are second to none and he believes owners should enjoy the whole racing experience by involving themselves in their horse/s progress as much as possible. "Owners pay big money these days and although not every horse can be a potential superstar, they deserve to get value for their dollar. The well being of their thoroughbred and enjoyment of same is essential for a successful winning relationship." Jason says.

Strike Rate as at 1/7/2010 (last 50 starters)

1st - 5

2nd - 7       "48.4% runners to money earners!!"
